Something New and Different at Theydon Bois Drama Society Drama Workshop – 20 April 2013 11am – 3pm Theydon Bois Village Hall We are introducing something new to Theydon Bois Drama Society. This workshop will be facilitated by Jeff Barnett, a drama society member with 40 years’ experience in stage, screen and television. His full biography is available at greathttp://www.actorsspace.moonfruit.com/#/about-me/4573160928. Jeff has put together a programme for the workshop which will include having some fun with improvisation, ideas and tips on developing a character and group work with the opportunity to perform and test out character interpretation. For members this is a great opportunity to learn something new whilst catching up with others from the society and meeting new people. For non-members there is the added benefit of getting to know our society with a view to getting more involved. There is a very small participation fee of £5 for members and £10 for non-members. This will cover refreshments and a light sandwich lunch. If non-members decide to join the society as a result of their attendance at the workshop the membership fee for the first year will be half price at £5. The day will be informative and enjoyable. Participants are free to opt out of performing to the group if they prefer although we’re sure that there will be plenty of people happy to show off! We plan to run these events regularly so your help and feedback will be welcomed to help us ensure that we’re including the right elements in our programme. You are welcome to call me or email me to book your place on nicago2004 (AT) yahoo.co.uk or 07792 933953. Absurd Person Singular
Written by: Mitchell Southgate at 13:27:17 on 23 January 2013
The lastest show has proved a hit with our audience and with the critics! Last week the cast of Absurd Person Singular laughed, cried and drank their way through this 3 act comedic play by Alan Ayckbourne. Paula Duncan directed a play for the first time and didn't give herself an easy task with a challenging script, a very complex set and numerous sound effects. Paula and the backstage team worked very hard to ensure that this show was a great success. Their efforts certainly paid off!

Fallen Angels
Written by: Mitchell Southgate at 15:12:16 on 30 October 2012
The cast of Fallen Angels performed to full houses last week with their highly successful production of the well-known Noel Coward play. Stan Millington directed Sue Seward and Jo Shephard as the two Fallen Angels, Martin Oliver and Dave Bennett played their unsuspecting husbands, Nicola Gilbert played the know-it-all, done-it-all maid, with Paul Arber as the irresistible French lover.
Audience feedback was very positive and the cast really enjoyed performing to such appreciative Theydon Drama supporters. None of this would have been possible of course without the brilliance of Lynn Green, Roger Broomfield and Graham James who created a fantastically authentic set and the back stage crew including Jeremy Allen, Andrew Pegrum, Simon Gilbert, Mitchell Southgate, Martha Draycott, Mo Jones, Zoe Buckley, Kay Rush, and the numerous society members who made the tea, staffed the bar and ran front of house.
